Electrical update

Hello All , just an update. I posted a month or so ago about my TO-30 stalling after running for 1 or 2 minutes. I was going to install an electronic ignition and the coils recommended from this site. Happy to announce it is working like a charm . Starts , in half a turn , like it always did , runs stronger and I eliminated the ballast resistor . I would recommend this for any 12 volt conversion as this worked well. And the coil is not to hot after running.

Thanks all , Bob

when you say 12 volt conversion do you mean ignition or charging system or both? I had thought of doing that to mind in order to make the engine run better but wasn't sure if that would really make a difference.

Yes , I did get the parts from this site. Electronic ignition , and coil. I also got the 12volt conversion ,alternator and such a couple of years ago , and it never worked as good as it does now.
Next to build a cab and get ready for winter. Have had the wood stove running 2 nights now !

It's well worth the money. I have two tractors, both with Z134 engines. One has the pertronix kit and one has the stock points and condensor setup. They both run well but the one with the pertronix has a bit more get up and go and starts way easier. Not that either of them are hard to start. When I have the extra scratch I'll buy one for the second tractor. It's just way down the list of needs/wants right now.
