Radiator Maintenance

just a reminder, Radiator maintenance

as we (rotary cut, bush hog or slash) dry grass and weeds.

watch the temp gauge, those dry leaves and weed seed can stop up these old tractor radiators.

need to wash them out from the motor side and pull hood up and check inside the front of the radiator,

would hate to ruin a good motor because you did not clean off the front of the radiator.

my old tractor, 1957 TO-35 came with at dealer install radiator screen, that thing catches much trash before it ever gets to the radiator, very good addition to the tractor.

Just a reminder for the occasional user who may not have cut his teeth ridding one of these old tractors.

My friend ruined his engine due to a build up of trash in front of the radiator, but the front grill was clean, he did not know to look inside the hood at the front of the radiator.

He let the engine get too hot, the Engine rebuild cost him almost the value of the old tractor, was a unnecessary expense.

Just a heads up in the dry grass and weeds.
