spindle followup

Got my replacement spindle for my TO30. It turned out to be from a first-year TE20 so my inner bearing didn't fit. Fortunately, the seller had included the gunked-up bearing which cleaned up nicely and I'm back on the road, (off the road, Jeff). I'll probably look for a TO spindle eventually just to make her look the same on both sides but I'm good for now. The TE spindle showed absolutely no wear, especially compared to the spindle I removed.

Don, I still have the original spindles (with the "TO" part number) that I took off my TO-20.

I replaced them with aftermarket spindles, because I don't have the ability/equipment to repair the worn "king pin" part of the spindle. (I've heard of people welding them up, then turning them back down.)

I can send pictures. If you're interested, please drop me a message. My e-mail is open on the modern side of the forum.

Tom, that is something I will check on. My brother is a great welder but I don't have a lathe. If I can find someone that can turn it for me I will get back with you.
