compression

Have a 48 TE 20, What should be a good compression Number
running and warmed up. Rebuilding the carb but wonder if the
compression is in a good range. Slow to start. Runs good once it"s
going. Thanks to all.

Is it 6V or 12V? Hot or cold engine? Dry or wet?
If it won't blow your thumb off the plug hoe while cranking, it's got problems.

Obviously it has "enough" compression to run. So don't worry so much what normal is. What you want to see is consistency between cylinders. Anything over 10 to 15 PSI difference between cylinders is a sign of trouble.

Be sure the battery is fully charged, remove all the plugs, open the throttle. Wouldn't hurt to adjust the valves first.
