Yes use stabilizer bars with it. Two if you have them or your plants will suffer from cultivator blight!!!

I use stabilizer bars when plowing the rows,

but, if I am using mine as a light duty plow to work up the ground I do not use the bars.

mine came with a set of fenders that can be mounted to protect the small plants.

nice tool, have used it much,
