Temperature gauge routing

Hi all. I am finishing up my Frankenthirty and it is almost all
Ferguson now. Just the front axle is still ford.

Does anyone have the correct routing for the capillary tube on
an original temp gauge? The TO30 replacement dash I found
came with a working temp gauge with the p clips to bolt down
the tube but I do not know where to place them. I looked
through the old post and could not find any help.

Thanks

Tom, I remember reading elsewhere on the YT Board that those clips go under the front and back cylinder head bolts, on the left side of the head.

I wasn't about to mess with head bolts (especially those two!) to install a capillary tube, so I zip-tied it to the valve cover vent tube and the top of the sediment bowl, where it threads into the fuel tank. I coiled up the extra tube behind the gauge with another zip-tie. (What did we ever do without 'em!)

Thanks, I lined up the clips and that's where they wanted to
go. Always worth checking with others.

Tom there never was a correct routing as the water temp. gauge was never installed in the tractor at the factory as far as I have heard or read.

Hi Richard, I know the temp gauge wasn't a factory item same as the lights. I found the p clips did line up with the forward and rear head bolts so I attached them there and I still have another p clip that wants to be attached near the battery tray just to support the line. Looking forward to seeing all the gauges work. Will post pics when finished.

Yeah, too bad we can't cut off the extra 2 yards of cable eh? My TEA isn't suppose to have a temp either, but it had the hole knocked out, with an amp meter it isn't suppose to have either. It seemed to run so intensely hot after the rebuild, but doesn't seem so bad since the weather is livable again. Verticle exhaust makes matters worse too.
Seems the little red bulb is sort of an early idiot light, instead of the meter, and there was a small knock out hole for that, wiring it will be interesting....
