First Drive in a Year and a Half...

mvphoto10609.jpg

Hadn't really planned on it, but after I re-torqued the head and re-adjusted the valves yesterday, I re-installed the fuel tank, sediment bowl and fuel line, so I thought I'd give it a try.

Had to check my brake job, so I opened 'er up in fourth gear and stomped the brakes - slid the tires on the gravel driveway, and stopped in a nice straight line.

Drove to the back shed to retrieve the blade, and the ride was a lot smoother than my last one in April of '13 before the new pivot pin, spindle bushings, etc.

Thanks to all on the board for your help.

Glad to see you can finally enjoy it Tom. It looks really good. Since your done with yours you are more than welcome to come and start on either one of mine...lol

Jason, it does seem like a bit of a waste to only do this once, now that I have the manuals, a few new tools, and a little experience. (That's the speech I'm practicing for my wife! )

Thanks, Gary.

I needn't have bothered to hook up the choke - I haven't had to use it yet! (I haven't touched those carb "tweek-ums", either.)

Thanks again for taking on a Fergy carb.
