brake adjustment for a TE 20

You should see a big square nut on the backside of the backing plate to tighten the brakes. It should be 11/16". Loosen the hexagon nut below it first and then turn the square nut clockwise to tighten.
 
I did the wife's TO 20 with a bungee cord around the
master brake pedal, pulled all the way up. Then
tighten the brakes until the wheel does not turn by
hand (Jacked up) then back off about 3 or 4 clicks
(?) until the wheels turn by hand. Release bungee
and step on brake pedal. Should come out real close.
If the brake pedal is not going all the way down and
the brakes are slipping you might have a leaky seal.
