ferguson 18 AO-28 plow

I recently picked up this ferguson 18" one bottom plow.
I'm assuming the share point is bent but don't know if it's supposed to be like this. The share is a 660 554 M91. My book lists the following, but not this one.
660 553 M91
660 785 M91
660 786 M91

Any info would help. Thanks, kirk

I have other plows and I know the point section is suppose to be bent down slightly for ground suction but the throat clearance of this one is no where near the ones on my 14 or even my 16 bottom plows. I have heard of a deep cut share on the 18 but I'm not familiar with the 18" plow and don't want to bend it back when it's suppose to be that way.

(quoted from post at 00:08:32 08/30/14) I've never seen a Ferguson one bottom 18" plow. Any chance we could get a pic of the whole thing?
After Massey bough Ferguson out they offered a single bottom 18",although I don't think it was ever offered before they bought Ferguson out. It is the same plow as the 16",even has the same moldboard. Only the share is different.

Your share looks to be the same as this one I have laying around.I can get you measurements if you want.

I see the coulter is missing but it looks like the tailwheel is also.

Coulter is missing but it does have the tail wheel.
Is your share an 18 or 16? Is it for sale? Email is
open.

Nobody could ever tell me for sure. It's not a 16" and two different people told me they thought it was an 18". It is a genuine Massey Ferguson share and the part number is 660550M91. I've got some measurements of it here somewhere.

Here is how my bolts measure...center to center on the bolts is 6.00" from the first bolt to the second and 6.00" from the second bolt to the third and 3.00" from the third bolt to the fourth bolt.

The red point in the pic will fit your plow it just has a square tail not tapered like the one on your plow. The point on your plow is bent just heat it up and bend it back, as to the moldboard the 18in is a lot larger than the 16 in

Thanks Scott. Will try to heat up and bend back. Should I let air cool or quench? I assume That once I bend it back it will bend or break in the same spot should I hit a rock?
Since the red one is not tapered will it matter if the top of the share is a little longer than the moldboard or should I take an angle grinder and cut an angle at the edge back into the moldboard at the top. I have seen this before.

Scott the parts book I looked in says the 16" and 18" both use the same moldboard. 660414M91.

jason parts books are not always right I have 3 single bottoms putting the 16in ones next to the 18in there is a hell of a difference between them. I recently restored my 18 found the same point as the red one in the pic got real lucky oliver made the moldboards for these plows and i found a 18in one brand new that bolted up. I have my old moldboard will look at number but it is at least 2in higher and longer

I believe you Scott. I wasn't arguing and I apologize if it sounded like that. The book I looked in was an early Massey Harris Ferguson book. So it very well could have been a typo or possibly at one point they did try to use the same moldboard and it didn't work out well.
