Paint colors for a TO30

I have a 52 TO30. Unlike my 55 TO35 which has a gray engine and trans with red hood and fenders, this one looks to be the opposite. The engine and trans appears to be red and the fenders and hood gray. Is this correct or is there some where on here that I can find the color options they had.
Thanks for your response.

There were no color options on these tractors, as Paul has said they were ALL Grey. A lot of these Grey tractors were painted red and Grey when the MF35's were introduced, possibly just to confuse the neighbors, although your tractor is unusual in that the red and Grey are the opposite way around (Red chassis,Grey panels)this is the style of the French made TE20 tractors after 1956.If it appear to be original then someone has taken a lot of time and trouble to paint it, not just splashed some on, like a lot do. Color is a personal preference. In the Channel Islands (nr France) even new tractors are painted in the colors of the family who owns them. All the castings are painted and sealed from new with an orange looking primer/undercoat, is it that you are seeing?...John

After 60 years non-orgional paint can look orginal.

In the late 50's a lot of TO-30's and TO-20's were repainted to make them look newer.

That said unless you want to restore to orginal then paint it the color scheme you like.

Even under the gauges and inside the dash is painted red. Areas I would think the average joe would not paint are painted red

I am in the process of changing the gear oil and repairing the PTO on my 52 TO30....mine also appears to have been painted a red/orange. For instance, under the side dipstick/side inspection plate.

What you are seeing is the red oxide enamel primer under the paint. Every TO I have ever seen has it. The TO-30 I grew up with had never been painted but it had the red primer showing thru on the fenders and hood where the paint was worn thru. I have a TO-20 that I bought at a show a while back and it is original. I pulled the engine today and the gray paint is peeling and underneath it is the red oxide primer.

I took a pic of the engine block
