Leaking CAV diesel pressure pump, Standard 23 C, 1958 TO-35

I need advice if anyone has repaired the seals on both the diesel fuel shut off shaft and also the throttle/governor shaft. Both are seriously leaking from the top of the CAV fuel pressure pump.

Also leaking is the large nut located on bottom rear of this pump. The Ferguson parts manual only shows the top two shafts listed as "seal" part#1 012 695 m1. No reference to the nut on bottom that appears to be a drain plug, as nothing attaches to it.

Any thoughts or advice greatly appreciated.

Top cover leaks can be repaired on the engine, but best results are with a complete tear down and reseal. Have seen other leaks show up shortly after the patch job was done too many times. The lower advance block bolt has seals on it too, it is not a drain plug.

I Agree. Do you have the number off the side of the pump? I have some literature to re-seal the pump if that will help, I have a 1960 23C TO35, I have found CAV seal kits online. The CAV pump on mine is a Roosa design, CAV made them under license. Standyne offers a lot parts for the Roosa pumps.

If you take it off to re-seal make sure you line it all up before removing it so you don't have any timing issues. Scribe a mark on the front flange of the pump and the mounting plate as well.

Found two sets of numbers on the side ID plate of the CAV pump.

First# (which I think may be the SN): 3242645

Second# R7869PA

Data plate is missing from the FE-35 itself but was sold as a 1958 year model.

Any info you have I would greatly appreciate.
