Righto. I ve been playing with the grader blade on the back of the tea 20. its a david brown with ripperson the back side.
Getting the handle on it and what it can and cannot do. also been watching lots of you tube video's, some useful some not !!
So we hired a excuvator to do some work around the place to lay some stormwater pipes and general clean up.
the next protect is a 300 metre trench for an irragation line and a telephone cable.. The excuvator was to slow ( or maybe the operator was to slow.)
Anyway i used the blade at full angle, so its about 300 mm from the LHS rear tyre, with RHS lifted as high as it will go and used the lhs to dig the trench. It took 4 passes to get to a depth of about 200-250mm. It was a hell of a lot quicker than an excuvator.
Firstly i ripped the ground to be dug with 3 rippers on the back of the blade. I found it to be pretty good, going much deeper is more work as we get into clay and the fergie starts doing wheel spins.
I only have one stabilziser bar at present, It did pull the blade right over to the LHS and the stabilizer bar was bending and rubbing on the tyre, so i need to get another one or some check chains.
Now i know it works it will be handy for running irragation pipe, making swayels and water run off.
Hope this helps someone as i did not find tractor people only want to sell me a single tyine ripper and pipe layer. But i like finding new uses for machinery.
Fegie On,
ps.I have pixs and maybe a video, If anyoine is interested i can post them up.
