For the Plow Guys...

This plow is for sale in a vacant lot near my office:

The nametag has been painted over, but it's a Dearborn Model 10 (Something) - can't see the rest.

If the price is right, would it be a good garden plow for behind the TO-20?

Yes they are a good plow. That is the plow that Ford sold after Ferguson split from Ford. The moldboards, shares, beams, and coulters are the same as a Ferguson. The difference is the tailwheel, crossbar, and headstock. They had to change that to avoid patent infringement. The crossbar on that plow used a cam design instead of Fergusons crank design. The cam design was known to turn on its on in the field, but your not going to be plowing a 100 acres so you will be fine as long as its tightened down good.Somebody has changed the coulters on that plow to a later style which is ok. Measure across the top from the center of one beam to the other. If its 14" it's a 10-1 plow. If its 12" it's a 10-8. If its 10" then you have found the ultra rare 10-10 and you could probably sell it for enough to buy another TO-20 to a Ford collector. I just got thru parting a Dearborn 10-8 plow out. The shares and moldboards are hard to find but shares can be welded up if need be. If you have any questions I'll help ya all I can.

I pull the same plough with my 1950 TEA 20 (4 speed)Ferguson manufactured in COVENTRY ENGLAND and it's a great match. Hope to located some Shears this winter when I'm in Arizona.
