I found a five gal bucket of 30w non detergent oil. would it be ok to use that in hyd. system and then top it off with 10w30?

just found 3.5 gal 90w mineral oil. could I mix that with the 30w?

not worried about winter flow.

Don't mix the oils.. use the 5 galls of 30w and you may have enough.. check this by removing the bottom bolt from one of the round side covers when you have filled it, allow any to run out. Doing this will also prevent oil getting onto the brakes easily. Don't fill to the top mark on the Dipstick, only to half way between middle and top marks or it will be overfull. The top mark is actually the too HIGH mark
When you pour in the oil, only 2 gallons at a time and then leave for 15 mins to level out or you may overfill the Gearbox and if the seal is worn it will run into the Clutch Housing. Takes a bit longer but safer. Oil only levels out slowly because of the baffle in the back of the Gearbox, this is to prevent oil surge on sloping ground...John(UK).. [email protected]
