craftsman 2 slipped a drive belt.

I don't know, looks like overkill to me. I had that same tractor and was able to change the drive belt by slipping it thru the shifter hole. Just lucky I guess.

(quoted from post at 02:30:26 07/11/14) so what fun was that?????

Agree , lots of fun whenever you can use any implement on the back of a Fergie . Here is a shot of my Australian Ferguson crane .

Nice Fergy there Doc!!! :D

That a genuine Ferguson jib?

32 - 8, kicked the Cockroaches butt in the last of the Origin matches, eh - not that I'm a great footy fan!!!

ok had to google jib as I thought it was a sail and it is but also a boom pole.

not a ferguson jib, tsc.

Brilliant - i bet i could rig up something similar with a drawbar, some 2x4s and a couple bolts. Way cheaper than a $150 lawn tractor jack

[b:8e3cfe0cc3]jib??? [/b:8e3cfe0cc3]

English, a common language dividing Nations of people with a common origin.

[b:8e3cfe0cc3]Jib[/b:8e3cfe0cc3]
noun

1. the projecting arm of a crane.

2. the boom of a derrick.

Origin: 1755–65; apparently short for gibbet

As an Aussie, when I visit my daughter in Texas I often need her to translate when trying to communicate with Yanks, particularly Texans!!

Never could work out what ' Chitlins' were . :) [ spelling may be suspect ]

Yes Bob , a genuine Ferguson implement , used the nine hole draw bar as a lifting base and connected to the long pin brackets .

Do the Monstera Deliciosa fruit at your place or is the climate too cold?

Blimey Bob ! aren't you sharp eyed . That one doesn't but a much larger one over the back shed provides more than enough over the summer . Between the possums and birds I get to taste one or two .

Charles

I grew Monstera Deliciosa at my home when I lived in Papua New Guinea, where it was generally known as Fruit Salad Plant. More fruit than I could ever use!!

Surprisingly, it also grows where I lived in Roma, fruits sparingly, despite the below zero winter night temps and heavy frosts.

It grows well here on the Gold Coast but no one seems to know the fruit is edible. What a waste..........

Sorry about the thread drift!

They do come in handy for moving stuff around. A light weight inexpensive ez to store outside implement. Even though i have other loader tractors I wouldn't be without a boom pole. I just unloaded a one arm loader off my trailer with one.

Kirk,
Question: how does the tractor steer, balance with the one arm front end loader? What was the main advantage of this type frame loader?

Easier to mount or remove from the tractor?
Thanks Fred,

Hello Fred,
Your first question could be taken 2 ways so i will answer it both ways.
If you mean how does the tractor steer with a one arm loader connected to a boom pole. It's light in the front even with wheel weights brake steering when needed.
If you mean how does the tractor steer with the one arm loader attach than they are not that bad even without power steering. regular loader are heavier and hold more payload so they are harder to steer than the one arm loader.
As far as balance as long as you have the proper wheel placement and rear weight and don't load the bucket beyond it's capacity, balance is not real an issue. Then too riding with a loaded bucket at full height on uneven hilly ground could cause a problem. If you lack some common sense and like to beat and push everything beyond there limits than I would think the one arm loader would not be the best fit.
The advantage was to get in tight areas.
With quick disconnect hoses it takes me about 10 minutes to take off and about 15 minutes to get back on and I'm not that fast

was asking about the one arm loader,

thanks, you do see them for sale from time to time.

I have even see an old ford 8n video that showed a rear loader 3pt hitch, with manual trip.

so someone was thinking years ago, how to make the tractor more useful with a loader.
