TO30 question

I have a 50 TO20 with a 54 TO30 X129 Connie in it...so, can my friend put a 35 engine in a 53 TO30? Are they interchangeable? It was her Grand Pa's and they have a double fist-sized hole in the block where it tossed a rod. I can get her a 35 with a freshly rebuilt engine. It is minus the wheels, tires, and some sheet metal, but a good tractor, otherwise. Any knowledge about this engine swap? I fear it's a no, but thought I'd ask.

Will it bolt up? Yes. Is it advisable? No. I had considered doing the swap myself but after looking everything over I decided against it. You won't be able to use all the bolt holes when mating it together which weakens the tractor significantly. After I sat back and looked at it all there were more cons than pros. I would weld the block up.

(quoted from post at 08:18:40 06/25/14) If the 35 is so good, then take the wheels etc from the TO30 and fit them on the 35. John(UK)

Not possible. She wants to rebuild her Grandapa's tractor, and the hole is like, HUGE! Not a possibility to weld over.

Someone will come up with either an engine or a Block...ask
again if you dont hear anything in a few days..keep asking as
things change all the time..johnUK
