May need a generator TO20

I think my generator on my to20 may not be putting out any voltage! Do you check it on the bench by using positive 6 volts from battery to case and negative voltage to "A" terminal on generator; jump a wire from "F" to ground: generator should run as a motor???

Bring it to Napa, they should have a 'testing bench'. Or if there is an old fashioned auto-electric shop near you.
Somethimes they need to be at rather high rpms to show a charge, sometimes they need a 'zap' with a battery to polarize it, Hey check you tube videos, some guys filmed these tests and tricks you might be able to do at home.
