TO20 Sputters but wont start.

I'm trying to get my TO20 started for the first time in a decade. I converted it to 12 volt neg ground. Put in a new coil, wires and spark plugs, new electronic ignition. I just got my new rebuilt carb from ytmag.com today and put it on.

I have a great spark. Engage starter and I get a sputter for a second or less. Think I'll get a compression tester. I think the new rebuilt carb should be all set. No adjustments needed. Once I had a problem with a sediment bowl. There was a hair line crack in one of the lines above going into the fuel tank that caused similar problem. So close. starter fluid didn't help.

maybe firing order is wrong but since it sat so long maybe compression is to weak rings will stick might need a little more oil on them

Ok So I added a little oil to each cylinder. Smoking like a chimney now by the way. I'm definitely getting a good spark so not electrical. I put jumper on on ignition switch key in case that's some how bad. I removed sediment bowl and cleaned and examined it. Looks good. Starter fluid doesn't help. Its converted to 12 volt so it should start right away. My guess is the timing is slightly off. I adjusted for it not to long ago. Maybe I'm off a bit. Going to read procedure again and try zeroing in on timing it better.
