Ferguson TO20 throttle / governor linkage settings

Hi Y'all,
Just about to get my 1950 TO20 out of paint and body next week.It is a real beauty now. This is my homage to my daddy. Engine, hydraulics, body has been totally rebuilt. This is my daddy's first tractor that he used to start farming after WWII. When he passed away, my brother and I inherited his tractors, my brother got the MF135 and me the Ferguson. The tractor was always special to daddy and I am trying to do this right. It was totally worn out. Last fall , we finally got our money right to do a restore / rebuild. Anyway, I remember when daddy used it the governor was never set right, using screen door springs and bungee cords to keep it usable, and now that the engine and tractor has been completely gone through, I am stuck with the governor/ throttle linkage settings from the past, which have never been correct. Anybody have some measurements on the linkages that will get me in the ballpark. Planning on going for engine start tomorrow and will need to set the governor soon after.
Thanks to all

I "think" this is the same as a TO20

If all the linkage and springs are not right, the governor will never work right.

The throttle plate is linked (#12) directly to the governor arm. The governor spring (#13) is linked to the speed selector arm on the dash.

The governor spring wants to pull the throttle open, the gov weights want to push the throttle closed.

With the throttle plate in the wide open position, push the gov arm (#14) fully forward. Adjust the link (#12) to this length and insert the pin. Pull the gov arm toward the rear, the throttle plate should close against the idle stop screw.

The tension of the gov spring sets the engine RPM. Adjust the max RPM to 2200.

Thanks a lot, this will get me started, When I get it from the paint shop, I will start on this, hopefully first of next week. I am going to start it today, hopefully with the governor disconnected just to hear it run and check oil pressure and the like. Thanks again, rick

If you want the correct Governor settings, email me and I will send them. I will send you all the other correct settings as well...John(UK)... fergusontractors at hotmail.com

John,
I am having a time sending an email, maybe wrong address, I have several pictures to show you how the linkages were setup before, thanks

You have most likely used the address as written on the post on the Forum...The AT in the address should be changed to @ as in normal addresses and without any spaces. JohnUK...fergusontractors at hotmail.com

John, I got the information, what a treasure trove of information, Thanks so much. I will follow the steps as best I can. Will start with the engine start troubleshooting on Monday. I still am having a time sending an email out, it may be on my end. Could you drop me an email from this address so I can save it. The error is probably mine but since I am older than a 5th grader, I may need to be led by the hand on this.
