TO-30 Spin on Oil Filter

Has anyone installed a conversion kit on a TO-30? I
purchased a kit that said it would convert a TO-30
Z129 to a spin on filter. I have seen this same kit
advertised on several websites. None of them
indicate there may be a difference in some engines
that this kit will not work on but I see no way that
it will work on mine. Is it possible there are two
different types of original equipment filters on the
TO-30? Any information will be appreciated.

Yep, I bought one once, it never fit any engine I have. Once I post a picture of an engine, and someone adding to the thread mentioned how it looked? 'vulnerable?' a thin tin shell hanging below the sump...yeah... so I put up with the old fashioned solid steel canisters.. someone in NAPA said in a few years new cars will not have spin on's anymore, but go back to a canister and element again, re-inventing the wheel?

if your tractor never left the garden area or only mowed the yard it might ok.

but when pulling logs or bush cutting in some heavy young trees I need a heavier oil canister.

I have had things pop up and hit the canister.
if it were mounted high up on the motor the thinner filter might be ok.

why do you want to change it out?

mine has worked well on the old TO-35 since 1957.
