breeding fergie

Hi guys
I have a small problem with breeding fergies.

I decided I needed to buy a tractor for our small holding. The local version of ebay in nz, trade me. had an add for two 35hp fergie tractors in pieces. In a fit of insanity I purchased these two only to find one was a tea 20 the other a fe 35.

add here.

Both had been striped of easily stolen parts whilst sitting on a deceased estate.

Thinking I may find another for the missing parts I cruised the local back roads and found another complete and very rusty tea 20 at the side of the road waiting to go for scrap steel...
100 bucks later!
Three.

Still needing viable tinware and radiator for the tea20 I spied another cheap 35 on trade me that strangely had the missing tea20 parts I needed included.

On inspection its a orchardised gold belly fe35 under the layers of grey, dark grey, red, orange and green paint.

That makes four in a month.

The question I have for you experienced gentleman... is there an cure for this rampant reproduction or do they continue to breed at such a prolific rate?

I am finding restoring the tractors a rewarding and challenging pastime and hope to have the tea20 finished and painted in time for our NZ summer.

There is a cure , it is described by a very complex mathematical equation that takes into account available space and discretionary funds . There is one rampant variable though , the desire to buy and drag home every old neglected one you see ! This desire can only be neutralised by a sound haranguing by wife or partner , usually of the female persuasion . If this doesn't work then the best thing is to become an old curmudgeon , surround yourself with as many bits of rusty grey steel as you can and live peacefully until you stop breathing .
:)

A very simple operation involving some neatly applied stitches to
the pocket helps!.........Good luck with your offspring!.........Sam

Hmmm, I think as Charles made clear as long as there is no
problem with the first women or partner in your life then you
are now a happy family of adopted grey children.

But, you are not the only one with this breeding problem. For
10 years I have owned one TO30 and I have adopted two
more since last fall. A lot of rust looking for grey paint.

Good luck

Would you mind disclosing the name (serial number) of this FE 35. I am SURE there are some who might like to adopt at least this one of your family. Only to make it easier on you and the others so they don't feel neglected.

Ooooooh 2 tractors.... if driving from Georgia to Texas is too far for ya.... New Zealand will put you in a straight jacket... and get you very wet. When I lived in the long black cloud, even junk was expensive. Glad to see things have changed in 20 or 30 years....
oh, btw... no such thing as 'too many fergies' , so since it isn't a problem, nay bloody worries mate! Go adopt an other 5 or 6 of em!

I started with some Ferguson's and then they somehow multiplied into a flock of MF50s. Lately, other strange rusty things have been showing up too, I don't know how! Must be mutants or something...

Don't blame the Fergies.........

You have contracted chronic Fergymania. Sadly it is incurable.

Hi I had that problem with Fergies when i lived in
the U.K I sold them all and moved on to other
projects.
when i came to Canada I found out it"s not just
Fergies that breed like rabbits. Fordson Majors do
to. Just thinning out the breading stock with them
now L.O.L.
Going from ten pair down to 5 I think thats a more
manageable level of ear ache to deal with. They
are in my mom and dads yard, Mom thinks she might
like gnomes better than tractors on the grass, and
she hates them!

I think it’s something to do with the smell of an old engine, perhaps they give of pheromones? In fact I’m pretty sure that that’s the case as it seems to affect males more than females. I got one for my last Birthday and already feel the urge to have another one for my next Birthday.

Strange thing is, those that bought the Birthday present are the one’s that scream the loudest, “No more bloody tractors”
