Is this the bridge you were talking about?? I had the time to take the portholes off and look in there, and got the tranny top and steering off. all looks pretty respectable in there. Never abused from the looks of it. So I wonder why the dorf trumpets and axles? The lift cover will come off tomorrow if at all possible. I'm sure something is wrong in there. So far working from front to back, a valve job or rebuild kit and dist parts is all that's on my santa list.

Here is a pic of the bridge I was talking about. According to parts book the 85mm TEA's got the aluminum bridge on the control fork like the TO-30's got.

Wow. I've torn apart 4 TO35's, I don't remember seeing one of those. I'll try to dig up some old pictures of those projects

Tony, the TO35s would not have had that bridge piece. It bolts between the two control arms on a TO30 to keep them from spreading apart and popping off the control valve.

TO-30's???? ooooooohhhh... now that I cleaned my glasses...
I guess I never had the cover off a 30... they never break down enough to have to fix anything!!
Well anyway yeah, mine is still full of oil, and that piece is way down in. I'll get there soon enough.

Ok Jason, here's the little bridge. It comes off by taking the 7/16's bolts out? This aught to be interesting putting all back together. I got the cover off, this out and the pump dropped and out, then the 'storm cell' came. they don't like to use the word 'tornado' up here. I guess that's why the death counts are so high, to keep insurance rates down?
I checked out a friend's 8N earlier today, only thing that really stands out on mine as dorf is the trumpets and big nut in the hub. NONE of his father's untouched TO 20 looks like stuff on this TEA20. Very little is exactly like my 30. Interchangeable? yes? identical? ... nooooo, all 3 are...distinct?
