Hi all and hello from Co. Down

A newbie to this forum and reading the posts I realise that most of the members are USA and Canada so I thought I would say hello and introduce myself.

I am from Magheraconluce in Co. Down, Northern Ireland, about 1 mile from Harry Ferguson’s birthplace, and the proud owner of a 1948 TEA20, a 62nd Birthday present from my Children and Grandchildren. First registered in April of that year it is in full working order and I am only the 2nd registered owner.

I am currently restoring it, although in reality it is mostly cosmetic. I have replaced a few oil seals, and the wiring as the insulation on the original was brittle and the last thing I want is a short circuit next to 10 gals of petrol.

I have also replaced the Clutch thrust bearing, but that was my own stupidity in wrongly adjusting the clutch pedal and then blaming it on a faulty bearing. Only thing left to do is re-spray the bonnet, or hood as I thing you call it.

I have included a few photos of the tractor, affectionately known as “George” as well as some shots of the house where Harry Ferguson was born and grew up. It is still occupied although I don’t think the elderly lady who lives there has anything to do with the Ferguson family. The house its self has only a simple Blue plaque on the wall to denote its history, but there is a meticulously maintained memorial garden and bronze statue opposite.

Yep. If you don't already know Sam, you will. You can search this forum and most likely find some pictures of himself- always next to a fergie or MF.

Can't say I know Sam, but around here its difficult to find a house that does not have a tractor of some description in the yard. The local Vintage Fair is being held in the village of Dromara, about 4 miles away, and I hope to attend with "George" and I will mention his name. I don't expect to attract much attention though as Little Grey Fergies are a dime-a-dozen around here.

Welcome to the forum(s), As a Statesider who has never traveled much, I find it most interesting to read and view photos from those in other parts of the world. You said that fergies are a dime a dozen in your area, in that case, I would like to order about fifty cents worth please! LOL

Looks like I may meet some of the other forum members on the 14th. Looking forward to my first outing, already booked a day off work.

Hello Ian, thank you for the all the pictures and information. Very nice job on the 20. I noticed the seat cover and wonder where did you buy it from. I live in Wisconsin and have TO20 which gets used all the time year around. Makes me want to visit your country some time when there is a big tractor event going on. Email me if you can about that seat cover or better yet post it here for all of us to see. Thanks again, Gary havlichek [email protected]

I'll email you as mentioning names or details seems to activate the spam trap.

Probably frowned upon by T20 purists who claim that in the old days men where made of sterner stuff and didn't need cushions to protect their bottoms.

Not quite sure what it is about the way I phrase things that triggers the spam trap. In the previous post I had referred to a man's bottom as a small equine animal and it apparently did not like
