Engine Governor Linkage

Hi Everyone!

I am putting together a TO30 I bought for a very good price. I have been having issues with the throttle creeping. I have put on a new tensions spring, and cork disc but am still having problems. I then found out I needed a compensation spring. After getting the compensation spring I realized I need yet one other part... It is #10 on the figure below but I do not know what the part is nor do I know where I can find it. Does anyone know what part this is? Any help at all would be great. Thanks!

According to your picture I am guessing you are not using a Ferguson TO 30 Parts Book as that part is #20 in my book, any way that is called Link, Compensator Spring: Part # 181 533 M1 then your number 7 is connected to it and that is 181 536 M1 and called Rocker, Governor Linkage. I am guessing your best bet to find this is a person that parts these out or a salvage yard. Others will let you know more I am sure.

I can confirm that the part number is 181533M1 and to the best of my knowledge, it is not available. I traced one out for someone else and took a picture of it so they could build one.

Rocky, run a Google search on the part number that Richard gave you, and you'll find several salvage yards that have them listed on tractor-part dot com, which is kind of a clearing-house for salvage yards.

I've dealt with several of those yards for TO-20 parts, and have been satisfied.

(There are also a few on eBay.)

Is your part just worn? You can weld holes and re-drill. Also I've seen part turned over and on top of rod. Look close. This will make a big difference.

The linkage is exactly the same on the TEA20, although I not exactly sure what that particular part does! I recently had mine apart to do some restoration and it's still working so I must have got it together the right way. On MINE, most of the time the spring is not even under tension and I can't see what action it preforms.

Hey thank you all for your help. I found an individual who has a TO20 sitting out in a field. I am going out there today to see if this part is still on his throttle linkage. Thank you again!

Hey, Rocky, just where is that field? Some of the rest of us might want to take a look at that TO-20!

If you can"t find one Inno sent me a scale drawing.
I cut it out of 1/4" flat stock that was out of a
old bumper bracket I used a metal cutting blade in a
jigsaw and then the bench grinder and finished it on
the belt sander. Its still working in their I have a
massey 202 with a z134 and a massey 200 loader on it

On the picture does anyone know how much tension
clamp # 6 needs to have on the spring # 5
how far towards #4 does it need to be
