Well I got the plow...

I got the Ferguson 2 12" plow today. I paid more than I wanted to for it considering it is missing some pieces but the shares are good and the moldboards are good. No tailwheel,no front landside,no coulters...

But I think I can find what parts I need in my plow parts pile

Plus I have this 2 12" Dearborn plow I can take the landsides off of and I'll have an extra set of shares since they will interchange.

I think as soon as Miner sees all those coulters and jointers he will be your new best friend. That is quite a stash of plow parts there! If you give me that chunk of Clinchfield RR iron... I will give you his phone number!
I guess we all pay too much for plows. I remember my father paying $50 for a Dearborn like that, I turned it into a one bottom, we still have it. About the same time, the early 70's? he gave my great uncle a six pack for my great grandfather's walking plow... we still got that one too... 50 bucks was like 2 days pay? I think a six pack on sale was 70 or 80 cents... oooooh...

Looks to be a good straight plough, Jason With so much missing
you could put it in the shed with the missing roof and no-one
would notice!.....Do I spy a Nasher in the background? If yes...
then go to the back of the queue immediately !!!!!LOL......Sam

What's a Nasher? Yeah it's a slow go putting the roof on by myself. You know how it goes, everybody wants you to help them but when I need some help it's a ghost town and can't get no one to help.

I picked that up that piece of railroad rail at the auction. They come in handy. Tony that's not a bad idea on turning that Dearborn into a single bottom. I was just going to strip it and part it out but now you give me something else to think about. If I keep going I will have as many plows as I do disc harrows...lol

Jason ....a Nasher is our term for an inter-naw-shun-all!
We don't hold them in very high regard over here!!!!.........

Well Sam you are right. That is a Farmall Super A. They are very popular around here for cultivating the hillsides. I bought that one dirt cheap and I crank it up about once a year. Why are they hated so bad over there?
