An update on my newest project TO-20

I went to drain the oil out and could not get more than a drizzle flow of oil out. So I removed the plate to see what was wrong?

I ended up taking the oil pan off to take the screen off so I could turn it around. Luckily all the pieces for the screen are still there.

I will probably remove the rod caps and drive the rod, piston, and sleeve out of the block together on the one cylinder that it is stuck on. The head gasket on this motor had just turned to mush from sitting so long, but on the bright side this is one of those ultra rare uncracked Z120 blocks!!!

Well good news and bad news huh? Good news is you now got a big project to keep you out of trouble all summer. Bad news is the Z129's in the TO30 are the ones who seem to crack at the webs the most. over-boring the casting was a cheap way to get an extra 9 cu.in. Too bad.
Now is a block a 'who'? Or should I say 'which'? Since an engine block ain't a people? But I know people who remind me of engine blocks? Now I'm all confused...
How's the potatoes? Mine went in a month ago, they are all a foot tall already. The vegetables like it when I'm not home...

Open end down,20's are usually not the ones that have the bad rep.but the 30's. I chased a water in oil leak on mine with 2 sets of sleeve orings and finally pressurized with pan off and valve cover to find it was the head.Be sure an place new rod and piston back in correctly, I think its oil squirt hole away from cam.

I don't think it will be a big project. I have extra sleeves and pistons sitting on the shelf right now if I need them. Everything appears to be in good shape except for that one cylinder. I am going today to an auction where they are selling a Ferguson plow,of course it's missing it's coulters and tail wheel. I have extra coulters and tailwheel assemblies for it but my luck it will still go sky high on price. I'm actually going to try to get an ez flow fertilizer but if the plow is cheap enough I may jump on it. After all I need something to pull behind this TO-20 after its running.

The Z120 block I have sitting in the barn is split down to the main webbing, and I have a Z134 that is split down to the mains also.

Well then you better quit breaking them! Might have something to do with your weather or altitude... ya never hear of cracked 120's or 134's around here. I believe Tom H west of me just invested in a TO30 with a typical block... I'll have to get my old 129 down to you soon, add to your collection!!
When I lived in New Zealand a friend of mine had a small farm with lots of wash out gulches. Now and then a sheep would fall in and break their neck. So his kids had an unusual road side attraction... they had- 'an extensive collection of dead sheep in various states of decomposition'..... they didn't charge me admission, that was nice of em!
