TO20 engine with no filter

I was wondering if someone could help me out. I bought a TO20 last fall and went to change the oil this spring and saw there was no plate on the oil pan where the filter goes. So I took off the oil pan and saw there was indeed no filter and just a float and screen. Someone before me modified it because the engine is original Z120A-600. Should I leave it as is or is there a kit I can get to put the filter back in?

Sounds like somebody has swapped the TO-20 oil pan for a TO-30 oil pan. You can buy replacement oil pans for TO-20"s.

What would you want for the pan and another question is that seem like there is a oil screen also form a TO30 in place. Is that also in a TO20 or do I need to rework it to fit for the oil filter.

If it is a large round screen with a hole in the top of it to slide up over the tube hanging down then it is for a TO-20. I'll post a pic from the parts book.

Nate, the Parts Book diagram that Jason will post will be the most help, but in the meantime, here's a photo of an oil filter screen from a TO-20:

(Note: they're NOT supposed to be mashed in at the top like mine was!)

That is an oil pick up from a TO-30. I can"t believe somebody did that. You are going to need several parts to make it right, or drill the block and add an external filter to it.

Thats sucks. Well what parts do i need to change or how hard is it to drill into the block. What would be the best choice and least expensive?
