TO 30 steering box timing

Recently purchased replacement steering box. The timing is set so that arms are aligned with raised area on sides of steering box. Instructions say to align with foot pegs. The difference is just a little bit. Can adjustment be left the way it is?

Turn the steering wheel until both sectors disengage, one forwards one back. Leave the sector gears resting against the central gear but not engaged....now place your hands on both steering arms and force them down evenly.....job done!...........Sam
