I have a 1959 Gas MF TO-35 with a dual stage clutch ( vin: SGM 192***). When I release the clutch, the transmission pulls first, and the lift/PTO only engage when I COMPLETELY release the clutch petal. I'm wondering if someone can tell me if it sound like the Belleville clutch could be worn out, or it they have any other ideals before I start to split the tractor. Thanks.

This was after some of the oil was drained from around the clutch area, and a picture of the offending seal. It was completely rotten and just fell apart in my hands. Then before and after cleanup.

I did the dual clutch in my 35 last year. I would consider doing the transmission input seals while you have it split. That was the reason for me to have to do mine, the transmission seals were shot and it soaked the clutch and starter. I have pictures of when I took mine apart if you need.

There are adjustment bolts with jamb nuts on the secondary pressure plate. They should be accessible through the inspection cover. Should be .090" clearance between the bolt head and the pressure plate.

Thanks, I believe that put me on the right path. They were way out of adjustment so I set them to .090" and re-adjusted my clutch. Now the pedal feels like it should and now the tranny comes in when it should but the lift isnt coming in so I now believe its time to replace the clutchs after all. Thanks very much for your help.

If you'll engage the PTO, watch it when you try to raise the lift, see if it stops turning. If it does the clutch is slipping under power.

It wont engage the lift or the PTO now that its adjusted correctly. The disc is worn out, thats why they had it adjusted all the way in. Im currently splitting the tractor to get the clutchs rebuilt, I will let ya know how it goes once I get them put back in.

Yes, but adjusting the clutch didn't help. I believe its either a belleville clutch spring, or a finger broken on the clutchs. Just hoping someone else has had the same problem and found something im overlooking.....lol
