Here ya go Tony. I got the Ford corn picker mounted

I got it mounted after I made some mounting brackets. I must say that mounting that picker ranks right up there with water board torture, but I got it mounted and picked some corn with it this evening.

Yeah, something"s wrong with the links Jason, unless it is so butt ugly you don"t really want us to see. I find it impossible to link anything since I got windows 8. A few years ago with windows xp, I could do all sorts of neat things quickly, not no mo..

yo Jason yo! R U 'ferguson farming'? I just searched youtube under 'ferguson corn picking'... and got a tractor seat view of a lot of a lot noise and last year's standing corn.. only found one video tho....

(quoted from post at 16:19:34 04/21/14) Yep...that is me Tony.

See if these links work. The videos aren't great because I had to use my cell phone to shoot it. Thats why you only get a quick shot of it actually picking because I was trying to drive, work the lift and shoot it at the same time.

Sure are a lot of moving parts but she seems to be doing what she was designed to do. I agree totally with the comment about Windows 8. I have to make about three times as many "input" gestures than I should to accomplish anything. I wish some startup software company would offer support for XP - I would pay for that.

I put you in as a subscription on you tube. So now you got to make more videos. You have a fan club!!
That mower looks dumber than my feo-20&1/2 hay mower.
I thought you said you were getting a '4 row' mounted picker.... that's the trouble with cell phones! That's why I needed to see a picture of that set up! So it's a one row on the right, and being a picker, you aren't hauling around a wagon full of chopped up wet heavy leaves and stalks, so now I will agree a 20 will handle the job just fine! Better than some dumb oll dorF- right 2 tractors?

I won't say it handles it just fine, that picker weighs 1700 pounds. That is a lot of weight hanging on the side of a TO-20. There is no wheels to support it. I am about done picking one field but the next field will be fun to pick. It's on a hillside and the picker will be on the down hill side.

Jason,
these old mounted pickers are a trip.
I have an old John Deere 100, built in 1948, semi-mounted picker set up to work on my TO-35.

a lot going on around you, but at least the old john deere has a trail wheel and a side wheel to help carry the load.

from my experience, if I had to buy another one row picker, I would look for a pull type picker, New Idea or John Deere brand, as it would have less weight on the tractor.

good luck and be safe these old machines can be very dangerous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
