Tractor Show Insurance

Drove 125 miles(one way) to Henderson Tx tractor show and pull today. When I registered they ask if I had a Edge Insurance card. I said no and what is it. I was told I had to have insurance before I could unload (I had un-loaded)and display my tractor. I was told since I didn't have insurance I could pay $30 and join there club and I would be insured. I said no then loaded tractor and left. Never been to a show where I had to be insured. Anyone ever had this problem?

We have to be insured to show tractors here in the UK. You only think you have problems with health and safety and claims in the US.....If a child climbs on to your tractor and falls off you may as well give them your tractor.....Oh! and your home and maybe even your car.....! Unless you are properly insured ????

I went to the Wauseon, Oh. tractor show I think 3 years ago this year and after I had unloaded and parked it I was instructed to go get my tractor registered and pay the membership fees then I was a member of their club for one year, being a member meant you was insured. That was only $10 as I remember so I did. Didn't go back again to that show in the following years.

you're going to see that more and more now days, our club has a umbrella policy that covers any member while at a club fuction,,, with today's sue happy sepectors, some ones kid hops on your tractor and falls or releases brakes and it rolls, who's at fault.. can't take a chance if somthing happens,,, any show by other clubs, i check about coverage or a waiver as a guest, before loading my tractors. i agree with you, not going to join a club for one show..

My Home Owners will pay for damages to someone even if I borrow something and damage it. I think it would cover damage if I ran into a tractor etc.

The thing to do is not go to shows that is money hungry. After calling and talking to our local club president(if our club had insurance) the insurance doesn't take effect for 30 days. ??? That the reason I left. He said that our club didn't participate at the Henderson Show for that reason. I didn't know that. Well I'm learning. LOL Just thought members didn't want to drive the miles.

EDGTA insurance comes with South Texas Wheel Spinners etc Club membership and is required to show but the club in Fredricksburg has it's own policy. Guess it varies but requiring insurance seems to be common.

The wife's Fegy has a master electrical disconnect on the neg side of the battery. Now if it ever gets done to *possibly* get to a show or not.
No, I would not pay to go. My feelings tend to go the opposite direction. YOU should PAY me to show up!
Insurance should fall onto the functions resposibility.
YOU let some KID climb on MY TRACTOR??
I WILL SUE!! forget the kid!

Most shows that I attend require you to join the club that is sponsoring it for insurance purposes. It does get you a year membership.

I'd be more concerned with my blood pressure on the 150 mile ride home. You had one of your 40's on the trailer? I'd be gun shy of going that far again unless a close- and intelligent- friend was part of that club and double checks for you. So a tank of diesel so the tractor can see the sights of east Texas... ???? sorta has a hollow ring to it don't it? Shoulda went to Oklahoma with a pocket of money and an empty trailer....

We have to have $1000000.00 liablility at every show we attend. I thought everyone had to have something like that. Cost us a few dollars on our umbrella policy.
