not being much of a news watcher any one know who or what is footing the bill for the search for the missing air liner ?
thanks.

My guess would be shared cost betwene the insurance company, and the countries that are offering to help find it.

That plane needs to be found. Just to be sure it hasn't fallen into the hands of terrorists.

Remember 'Moby Dick'? With Gregory Peck? Or the newer one with Captain Picard of the next generation Starship Enterprise? The 'ancient rule of the sea' is to donate 2 weeks of your time searching for lost souls... after that... well, I think the richer countries are donating their navy's time and fuel as an exercise, as well as test equipment etc. US hasn't spent much, because, in my bet, they know the thing is on an ol WW2 airstrip in Indonesia or the Philippines getting loaded with ol x-ray plates and all sorts of radioactive waste to take back in the air- but the mainland US is too far away on one tank of fuel... so... who's next? What was the ol Chinese curse? 'May you live in interesting times'??

Australia is paying for the bulk of the search costs as well as providing refuel and resupply for Japanese and New Zealand air craft and crew .
