Coolant temp gauge

OK to be truthful I have not looked real hard for a place to install the sending unit. I have a 48 TE20. Where would I install the sending unit?

Thanks for the reply.
My water Pump has a boss where it looks like it should mount but it is not drilled for one.

I guess it will have to do with out. I will just keep checking the water level It does not seem to get too hot and it does not have a thermostat in the upper hose.
