Asbestos running boards on fleabay.

There was also an asbestos lined heat shield accessory that went over the engine and under the fuel tank on TEA models . This was supposed to stop fuel evaporating in warmer climates .

Charles, can you post a link for this back to our FOFH forum? Some there may be interested, or at least they could argue about it! LOL....Thanks...........Sam

That's more or less what I am looking for. However I
believe I will wind up with some type of deflective
silver heat shield under the hood to deflect the
heat from the paint.
That and get the heat shield from a '35 to mount on
the wife's '20 above the exhaust manifold.
Also need to get a heater mounted.
NOW that ought'a be fun!

I posted about the running boards on the TO-35 I'm building that has asbestos. If you remember I had never seen it on tractors before. We always put a 2x6 on top of running board to keep foot from getting hot. Could have been a poor folks thing. LOL Well we had Fords at the time. Maybe they never used it.

I guess it's kinda like your missing jointers. Asbestos isn't waterproof at all, so once the tin cover got a hole, and rain or wet grass got in, the clock was ticking. I have one running board with the stuff still there- out of 14 tractors?
When my momma ran out of shredded wheat, she would peel some off an old steam pipe in the cellar. Some milk and brown sugar, we never noticed the difference.
