TO-30 Guages

Hello, I tried searching with no luck. What were the 3 original gauges on a TO-30 and their locations? Thank you.

Allan

Magfarm, the TO 30 came with an oil pressure gauge and a ammeter gauge. If you want to be a little safer many others and I have installed a water temp gauge also. Oil gauge on the right side of dash, water temp gauge on extreme left side of dash and the ammeter to left of the steering column.

Richard, thank you.
Is there a specific plug everyone uses on the block for the temp gauge probe? Any idea what size of fitting is needed?

Yes a plug is available but I do not have the size in order to tell you what to get. The way I understand you can get them at a hardware store. I hope someone will be nice enough to post a pic and the size. If I am able to get a picture of mine I will send it to you. It will be later today.

On the TO-30 I had the sending unit installed in the neck just below the top radiator hose.

Allan, the temperature gauge I picked up at the auto parts store had the correct adapter fitting for the plug in the neck on my TO-20. (There were several different adapters included.)

(EDIT) Allan, the Parts Book says that plug is a "Plug, 5/8", NF, Special".

What is that bracket behind the throttle lever? I have not seen that before. Does it limit the throttle levers upwards movement? I know sometimes when I open my hood and the throttle is up to high it hits the edge of the hood.

Ron, I think that is called the throttle control quadrant. There is no stops on it but it does help firm up the throttle rod and I think it is mainly used for selecting engine speed. It is standard equipment on the Fergusons.

Ron, I believe if you look around you will see those items mainly on Ford tractors. Some are plain and some have notches or grooves in them to help hold the throttle lever at same position. They use the same steering column bolts to hook it to the dash.
