Offset Howard Rotavator

Picked up an offset Howard Rotavator today. Wheel
adjuster is frozen and I beleve the engaging gear
box is in need of repair of some sort.
This tiller bolts onto the rear end of the fergys
and fords with the 1-1/8" PTO shaft. Support bracket
bolts around the left fender mount. This tiller has
an engagemnet rod that keeps the blades from turning
until the operator desires. So with the typical PTO
of the era you can raise/lower the tiller without
needing to have the blades turning.
The question is stirring in the back of mind as to keeping this toy or not. Hmmm.

Ya think you could get a smaller trailer next time??
The last one I 'did not' take home- well, the bidding went nuts, about a grand, I already got a nice Caroni, cripes that Howard weighed 360 kilos? Was on the tag, made in West Germany. what is that? 800 pounds? And how did a company so famous for the simple 3 point hitch have so much 5 point hitch equipment?
Fix it. Keep it. Put it behind your 35.... you do/did have a 35????

The '35 had a cracked block and is going away slowly. Basically down to the trans and rear end.
The wife's Fergy TO-20 could use this for Show-N-Tell. I have to consider this before I make "final" plans.
And your on the east coast and still awake at 11.45PM and playing on the tractor board? The wife is on the phone and the TV is on mute. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it...

Here's the one I picked up a couple of weeks ago.
I believe we spoke on the N board about the other one you had. This one is missing the piece that connects the tractor pto to the rotovator. I too don't know weather it worth keeping. Can you send or post a photo of the adapter to connect the to the pto?

Thanks, Kirk

here's the howard I had for awhile. I used it behind the 3600 I had at the time. at 600+ lbs. it was a handful for the 35. got rid of it as it was just too much for this 64 year old fat man with a bad back to handle on my own.

Selling it is in the back of my mind. Scraping is about 180 per ton last time I checked and this probably weighs in at 4oo pounds. You do the math.
The wife"s Fergy has the Howard trans to go with this toy. I also have an orange interloper to hook up to an Itilian 3 pt. tiller. So why did I get this?? well, the possibility of reselling after listing it properly.
This tiller is designed to be able to lift without turning the blades.

This was one at an auction near me last fall. Bigger than it looks, heavier than it looks. The tines are kinda worn to a frazzle. Went for over 1100. A few years ago I bought my like new Caroni for 4 bills. Lucky me? I wish whoever bought this alotta luck too!

These rotavators were actually sold as a Ferguson implement in Britain.............Imagine having the ONLY Ferguson rotavator in America????????????????..........Sam

Well...okay, I guess. I got two of these now.
The first one even has the bracket on the fender for engaging the tiller.
