on the TO-20.The stud is completely stripped - zero threads - so a chaser/re-threading die would do no good.
It was that way when I bought it a year and a half ago, and no telling how long before that.
I have the rear wheels off, so this would be the time to fix it, BUT: I have no other reason to take anything apart back there: the brakes are fine, and the rear seals aren't leaking.
From what I read in the archives, the brake drum can be a booger to remove, so that the old stud can be driven out.
I know it's not ideal, but can I just leave it as is, and let the other 7 lug nuts carry the load?
