TO20 oil filter down tube

Working on my To20 and I find that the oil filter down tube (center of filter) was replaced with a section of tube. There does not appear to be any holes for the oil to enter the oil filter. Can anyone send a picture of the original down tube or tell me what the hole pattern should be?

Thanks

It's been awhile since I have had the filter out of my TO20 (the filter access plate is welded to the pan) but from what I remember there is only one small hole in the tube that goes through the filter. If you drill to many or to big of a hole you can drop your oil pressure past the center bearing. Sorry, I don't have a picture of the tube.

Many moons for me too but seems as the one hole was smaller than a matchstick and more toward the top of the filter position.

Yes, Dan and 2 are correct: one hole, about 3/32", toward the top of the tube.

It's hard to see down there, and at first I didn't think my tube had a hole in it either.

And Dan, I'm about ready to weld my oil filter access cover on, too - I'm having a heck of a time getting it to not leak!

Thanks for all the input. After removing the
fabricated down tube from the tractor, I did find a
1/32" hole in it. Seems too small to me.

Regarding sealing the oil filter cover, I have been
successful using a black silicone adhesive /
sealant on the cover.

Hello everyone. I bought a TO20 last spring. When changing fluids I found the oil pan badly dented. previous owner just used a lot of silicone to close gap for oil access plate. I ended up using some fuel hose to make a large o-ring. Seemed to bridge gaps and has not leaked. Looking forward to getting to know my tractor better.
