Industrial Ferguson

I have a 1953 Ferguson, TO 30, S/N 125342, that was painted yellow when I purchased it. How can I verify that it was sold as an industrial tractor to a city or county government. I want to re-paint it the correct color.

Look for original paint in areas usually covered, such as under the hood, dash gauges, peeling paint on engine block, etc. Scrape in an inconspictious area to reveal underneath. I have a 1955 TO35 and the silver paint peeling off the engine block reveals its original Green base in several areas.
