Replace differential cover

I have 1955 TO35 with cracked differential /hydraulic cover. Any idea where I might locate another? Will cover from 20 or 30 work as a replacement? Cover cracked because of moisture in oil from condensation. Started tractor and let idle for about 10 mins. When I stepped on the clutch something in differential engaged or disengaged resulting in sickening clunk and oil squiited from under seat towars gear shift. Crack is down center of cover and spiders outward at front. Beyond welding.

I am in Hillsboro, Oregon with a '35 parts pile. Engine cracked, lots of parts gone. Still have trans and back end. Single clutch. email open

(quoted from post at 20:25:21 03/11/14) Most times it's the relief valve that causes it to break.

Yup, I echo that sentiment. I got lucky and only cracked the cylinder. When you do put it back together, get a new relief valve to put in. It's cheap insurance.

Need only top cover. If you will sell it how much and can we arrange shipping? I am located in west central Illinois. Can drive to pickup if not tooooo many 100s of miles.

Thank you to all who responed. It may be month or
so before I get it apart. Its setting in unheated
shed. Probably why ice caused problem. Was -28
couple of weeks ago.
I need temp just a little warmer for this old body.

I would suspect you have water in the case, froze and blocked the hydraulic oil from getting to where it needs to go.

There is a rubber boot on the back of the cover, if it's rotted away it will let rain water in the case. Might want to replace it and the shift boots while you're in there.

sent you two emails. Interested? Check your spam filter maybe. You Talking about the trans gears housing? Rear diff housing? Hyd top cover? All available. Let me know.
