Tea 30 rear lift arm

plowing snow the other day, the right hand lift arm pulled out
of the rear diff. Causing the 30l of oil to drain all over my
driveway. It would appear there is a castle nut and cotter
pin that should retain it inside the diff housing. I drained the
remaining oil and fished around with a magnet to no success.

do I need to pull the wheel, brake assembly , then axle tube
housing to repair this? Any one have a diagram? It is a "full
floating" style axle similar to a gm 14 bolt?

sorry if my terminology if off I'm new to the tractor game.

If you have adequate lifting gear or if you are quite strong you will be able to remove the complete axle trumpet from the transmission housing. It is more awkward than real heavy. You may have a worn housing where the pin fits as it must have been dripping oil for some time? Or did it snap? You will need to put some sort of sealer around the new pin and really tighten it up before fitting the cotter pin. Also ensure your new paper gasket is the same thickness as the old one or you may have to adjust the shims for end float....... Sam

Thanks Sam, It has been dripping for a while but we have been gettign a foot of snow a week so i have been working it pretty hard.

The pin dose not appear to be broken it just looks like the cotter pin broke and the nut backed off.

I am running a modified 8.25x24.5 logging truck wheels with 1200r24.5 tires 55gal of calcium in each with Modified Logging Tryggs. I have broken a few welds so far. It gets quite a bit of traction. I also run 300lbs on my blade for more cutting power.

I will try to R&R the horn tonight, i should be able to leave the hole brake assembly intact for this process? Other than unhooking the linkage?

Yes, the brake system can be left intact but beware it is quite heavy when all built up, but then you know about heavy with them calcium filled wheels?????
