unfinished bushing?

Ok so looking at rebuilding my front spindles (TO30) and the kit lists "unfinished bushings" - does that mean once I in stall them I have to ream them to finished size?

That's how mine were. (TO30 as well.) Having never done anything like it before I ruined one in the learning process. So now I have three good bushings and one still old one. And the place I typically buy parts only sells in groups of four.

If you have the tools to do everything right that is ideal. I do not. But I managed to get them close enough to be far superior to the worn bushings I removed.
 
So what's the procedure for sizing them? Brake hone? Reamer? Dowel with #120 wrapped around it chucked into 1/2" drill?
 
This is what works best for me, got the info from a post by Ultradog MN. I went through a few brake hones before I started using this method and it works much faster than the hones.

Del's procedure is pretty much what I settled on too. Although I like the idea of the sandcloth for when I get around to doing that last one again.

On mine the spindles were worn enough that by the time the bottom bushing was reamed enough allow the center part of the spindle to pass through for installation, the clearance was slightly more than desired, although far far better than before I started.
 
On my 30 I was able to find a refurbished end mill just a little smaller than the right size and finished with 200 grit paper on a dowel. The spindles were out of round at the top and I used steel-filled epoxy to bring the profile back. My Dad used the same stuff on the lift shaft ends and it was still good 10 years later when he traded for a TO35.
