Unfortunately my dad didn't see it that way and in the early to mid 1970,s tore it down and put up a huge pole building (steel) that would house all our machinery at that time and have room to work on them too. Tall enough for the combine and large enough for all our tractors and machinery. Nothing set outside from then on. Lot of memories in that ole barn from filling it to the top with hay bales to capturing pigeons and building tunnels and cabins in the bales to hand milking cows and trying to find where the chickens laid their eggs. Dad bought the farm to keep four scrapping boys out of trouble. He was smart and it worked. We are all better people for being raised on the farm. No broken bones, no jail time, no drunk drivings or tickets and we did learn the value of a dollar and that a dollar saved was like $1.50 earned. Here are some more of the old barn and some of our cattle and my brothers and our first ole farm truck. RB

All I can say is awesome - reminds me of times we will never be blessed with. I would love to have raised my kids on a farm. BUT the barn would stay!!! We had a barn when I was growing up -it was left to the "oldest son" ( family traditions), the barn was torn down property sold.Love the pictures.
