My 1953 Ferguson TEA20 tractor:

Had the opportunity to buy another brand new Ferguson TEA20 tractor but I think I got dudded....... It came in a big box labelled "Ferguson TEA20":

But when I open the box and drive it out, instead of a British built TEA20, I seem to have a US built TO30:

And it doesn't help that someone painted over the data plate with gold paint, so I can't see the serial number........

Even worse ....... they sent me the old model! :(

Consolation I guess - I now have one of the very few TO20s in Australia?

'53 TEA20 and now, a TO20!

Bob, a TO-20 wouldn't have that tool box on the left side of the engine, and I think it would have scalloped wheel centers.

Ferguson TE20, that makes sense! But not a TEA20 like the box says!

It is a nice model, quite well detailed.

I truly, truly feel your pain.
I am willing to help you ease your pain.
It is a burden, I will admit. However, you should
not be depressed over this horrendous act.
I will release you of your troubles by accepting
this mis-begotten tradjedy in my mail box.
It is the least I can do for you in the season of
joy that you should not be overly troubled.
Merry Christmas!

Bob, I would be more worried about that big split in the rear of the
diff housing.....just don't fill it too full of oil! Also check the clutch
as the pedal seems to be stuck down!
Happy Christmas with no snow in your upside down world!
Sam

Bruce. You have no idea how much I appreciate your very kind offer. I'll think about it. :D

Samn. Didn't notice that! Warranty claim!!!!

Yes, I think about you guys and your winter weather, cold, snow, ice...... Not for me.

Here on Australia's Gold Coast, the average day in Summer peaks around 90 to 95 F and even a cool Winder day the temp is around 70 F. Maybe Florida weather?

I can't avoid visiting my daughter in Houston TX in the next three to four months, but won't be going there until it gets a lot warmer.

Christmas Greetings to all Fergy Friends around the World.

Well, bad news is Sam is on the money about the clutch and cracked casing under the top link, I wouldn't drive it like that... you might want to take Bruce up on his offer...
But on the bright side, you now have a model of the finest of Harry Ferguson's choice of engines... and this one won't use more than an eye dropper of petrol a day, no matter how many houseplants you cultivate.. so nay bloody worries mate, she'll be right...

Thanks John .......... The expert has spoken.

It is a nice model 1 : 16 scale. According to the box, it appears to be an official AGCO product, manufactured by Universal Hobbies in France, so it may well be the same model as SPAREX sell.

I bought it through EBay Australia, HERE. Not cheap but definitely not a toy.

I don"t know how Australian dollars compare to US dollars but I checked on one of those at my local Massey dealer and it was $92.00.

Bob don't be disappointed there is a TO 20 model listed on ebay that the box states the TO 20 was the first Ferguson tractor built in the U.S. in 1947. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1947-Massey-Ferguson-TO-20-by-Country-Classic-Scale-Models-/121234662729?pt=Diecast_Vehicles&hash=item1c3a262549

John, that looks like the same model.

Jason, Aus$1 = US$0.90. US$92 = approx. Aus$105.

Santa brought me another model - this time a Jaguar E-Type / XKE!

Not exactly the same model as my Jaguar E Type, but close enough!!!

Merry Christmas to all our Fergy Friends around the World!

As John said. It is a TE-20. Cont. Engine gives it away. Not a TO-20 or -30 as the tool box is on the Battery support. TO's have then on the front of the fuel tank.

Also, they got the fuel filter in the correct place for a TE-20. TO's have it at the aft end of the tank behind the engine.

Great detail. Nice model. I like the car also. Enjoying summer or is it blazing hot in Roma?

"Enjoying summer or is it blazing hot in Roma?"

Usual Roma weather for this time of the year - most days over 40° C / 105° F. But quite bearable due to the low humidity.

I retired a couple of months ago and bought a water front house just south of Brisbane, where I keep my Sea Ray 290 cruiser in home marina. My two Jaguars are here but I still need to bring the Ferguson TEA20 from Roma. No idea what I'll do with it as I have no storage at home. I've owned that little grey Fergy for 27 years and can't accept the thought it may be time it went to a new caring home.

A dead giveaway are the stay rods used to brace the front end to the bell-housing. This was a bit of desperation engineering that was used only on the TE20. TEA20 had a cast oil pan which gave strength to the engine/bell-housing connection.
