to-30 oil pump

Nope, just drop the pan and undo the front main bearing bolts. There is also a retaining bolt on the center bearing race that needs to come out and you will have the whole pump out.

No! You just need to drop the oil pan. (But first, get a Parts Book and a Shop Manual.)

Now that I've exhausted my knowledge, the guys who [b:e0403a7a50][i:e0403a7a50]really[/i:e0403a7a50][/b:e0403a7a50] know what they're doing can weigh in, once you tell 'em what you're up to...

thanks, have owned this tractor for 20+ years, oil
pressure only at about 5-10 when hot. would like to
try this before really getting into it. My dad and I
have 24 antique tractors, this is the first one I
bought, like it much better than the 8n's we have.
thanks

First verify that the gauge is accurate. If it is then you can rebuild the oil pump but I would say the problem is more than the pump. I would say the bearings are getting worn and your loosing pressure from too much bearing clearance. If you pull the oil pan you can plastigauge the bearings and check the clearance.
