I found in the archives where Jerry/MT says 90 psi minimum and not more than 10 psi between any cylinders.

I would tend to say depends on engine temp and
cranking speed. Hot 12 volt engine is going to be
higher that 6 Volt cold. Back yarder is high enough
to blow your thumb off the plug hole when cranking.
Squirt some oil in the hole and try it again.
If the thumb don"t move, Uh-oh.

Neighbor is trying to get one running for another neighbor and was looking for a starting point.
another question is how does the starter switch work? Is it a mechanical switch in the trans. right will not go into reverse or start position. the machine has been sitting for years. Engine turns over good by jumping directly to starter.
