I need to replace the fulcrum pin and bush on my fergie but i cannot remove the pin from its housing. i have removed the single bolt at the front and tried hammering the starting handle as per the manual but it will not move. removed whole carrier and tried to knock it out from the back but to no avail. have i missed a fixing somewhere or is it just extreamly tight?

You will probably have to use some good heat and some solvent would help also. Use the heat first then if that does not work try solvent for a few days and maybe a bigger hammer or a press if you have one handy.

Something I also have done is put a pipe wrench on the front of the pin and try to get it to turn. Once it turns it comes out easier than hitting it.

I had the whole "front-support-plate" off the tractor at the time, and "wailed" the pin from the rear using a heavy hammer and piece of water pipe shoved in the back of the pin-tube. It required a fair amount of effort to free it. Cross member had some radial cracks in the part above the pin before starting, so be careful. Had to get the existing cross member cracks welded up afterwards.
