I have just ressurected this Corn planter and everything seems to be working on it. The seed chart in the box is scratched up and almost unreadable. There is no Fertilizer chart. If anyone has these charts could you please send them to me at [email protected] I would like to use this machine in the spring to plant some sweet corn and some field corn. I also have 5 set of seed discs and was wondering if they are on the seed chart or is there another chart for these or if there is a way to determine what disc to use. Thanks Stan :?

I don't know if the plates are on the chart or not but I can tell you the best way is to take your plates and match them to the corn if your seed dealer will do that. My dealer here wouldn't do that and depending on where the seed comes from it will be sized differently. My plates were for large flat and the corn was large flat according to the description on the bag. Most of the time I could fit two kernels in each cell of the plate. So their large flat to me was a medium flat. It seems that plate style planters are becoming obsolete.

Thanks, I will just try to fit the seed when it arrives. The closest to buy corn is 150 miles away. We are trying to grow some field corn for fall pasture so some extra will not be a problem.

I always take new seed and use planter on clean ground to see how it drops seed. Just set planter so it will not cover seed. This way you will know the spacing of seed. Keep trying different plates. The seed size is always different.
