throttle control rod clamp

the throttle rod clamp on my to20 is broke and wont tighten up. has anyone used a regular style cable clamp on this, or have better ideas? it is the one up under the breather that puts pressure on the spring to hold hand lever tight. i already replaced the friction disk, now the clamp is broke and wont tighten.

that is what i was asking about using. just curious if anyone has used one and with good results. i know the original clamp is flat and there isnt much room where it is. i just dont want it hanging up on something.

Actually would be 5/16 cable clamp, same as at the front end of the same rod where governor control linkage is clamped to rod.
