51 furguson Three point stays up

Is the cork friction disc at the control lever still there? If it is missing or worn out the lift will not stay where you put it.After you replaced the control valve did you adjust the draft control spring and then adjust the lift quadrant? When you replaced the control valve did you drop the pump and clean the inside of the case and the bottom of the pump really good to remove the years of grit and grime?

I was going to adjust the spring when it went up and stayed , yes I have cleaned it taken it apart and put new oil in .this makes the 3rd time I have had it apart sense I got it 6 weeks ago my first one

What you mean you were going to adjust the Spring, what settings were you going to use?
The fact that the 3 point has gone to the top and stayed there has nothing to do with the Draft Spring at all. Your problem lies with the Control Valve. It may be stuck or it is detached from the Control Fork. You have possibly got something wrong when you took it apart. Did you have the information about working on the hydraulics or not when you did this? If you email me I will send you the information that you need to check the Control Valve and how it should be. Tell me if there is any free play in the Draft Control Spring and approximately how much in and out movement. John(UK) [email protected]

Give it time to get the air out - if you had the draft spring off it will need adjusted. I ran into the same thing on mine, if you put your weight on the arms abruptly (don't jump/bounce) you should be able to get them to go down.
